Ancient Greek pottery<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

The handpainted pictures,represent Gods<\/a> and heroes of mythology, something that did also in ancient greece, because they wanted to include in every day’s life, and to honor with this, the gods who worshiped and asked for their help in every need.<\/strong><\/em>This wine amphora\u00a0 is\u00a0 made with the same pottery techniques, that used in ancient Greece.<\/strong><\/em>
\nBut through ancient greek ceramic art, we will go through the stage of the simple daily vessels, to some vessels which had special purpose.<\/strong><\/em>
\nThese were manufactured elaborately with great angiographies, making them so important pieces of worlds history.<\/strong><\/em>
\nA trip that will start from 1100bc, the progeometrical period, and reach to the prevalence of black-figured and reddish rate, up to 330 bc.<\/strong><\/em>And will grant us unique masterpieces,such as amphoras, lykithoi, ydreies, jugs , prochoys, cylics, beetle, wine amphoras, craters.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Inscriptions<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

Inscriptions on Greek pottery are of two kinds; the incised (the earliest of which are contemporary with the beginnings of the Greek alphabet in the 8th century BC), and the painted, which only begin to appear a century later. Both forms are relatively common on painted vases until the\u00a0Hellenistic period<\/a>\u00a0when the practice of inscribing pots seems to die out. They are by far most frequently found on Attic pottery.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
